Mutual Reception: Mercury in Taurus + Venus in Gemini
Hey cosmic cousins! On this week of Cosmic Weekly Weather, for the week of May 4–10, 2026, Mary Evans joins us unexpectedly. We light a candle she gifted, and drop into the living ritual of the moment together.
Notable Transits of the Week
Mutual Reception: Mercury in Taurus + Venus in Gemini
Mutual reception is an astrological condition where two planets are in each other’s ruling signs, creating a reciprocal exchange of energy. It’s as if each planet is hosted by the other, so even if they’re not in their most natural placement, they gain support, access, and understanding through that relationship. This often creates a feedback loop where the planets can “help” one another express more fluidly.
This week, we are experiencing a mutual reception between Mercury and Venus—meaning they are in each other’s signs, creating a supportive, reciprocal relationship.
Mercury (the mind, communication) is in Taurus (ruled by Venus), while Venus (love, beauty, pleasure) is in Gemini (ruled by Mercury).
This creates an energetic “infinity loop” or feedback system, each planet strengthening and softening the other. We were likening this specific combo of Mutual Reception to the ‘2 of Pentacles’ in the tarot.
Themes of the week include balance, harmony, and learning how to integrate thinking with feeling, and value with curiosity.
Mercury in Taurus invites us to slow down, speak from embodied truth, and tend to practical, sensory realities (like finances, food, touch).
Venus in Gemini encourages play, connection, curiosity, and finding joy in conversation, collaboration, and “fun in pairs.”
Together: where Taurus may feel fixed, Gemini brings movement; where Gemini may feel scattered, Taurus offers grounding.
Reflection Questions for the Week:
How can I speak what I value?
How can I stay curious about what I love without rushing to define it?
Song of the week: “Goddess Code” by Lizzie Jeff
This track is a mantra for the current astrology and mutual reception of Mercury in Taurus + Venus in Gemini —calling in abundance, friendship, greater alignment, purpose and joy.
Lyrics about manifesting finer things, embodying what you preach and traveling with friends. Let this be a soundtrack for pleasure, self-worth, and intentional creation.

"Scorpio Full Moon: On the Verge of Tears or Rage"conversation with Embodied Astrology Martial Artist Kendra Smith
You don't want to miss this convo! On this Scorpio Full Moon episode of Cosmic Cousins, we are joined in conversation with Kendra Smith, a Scorpio kickboxer, stuntwoman, celebrity trainer, former WWE pro-wrestler, and founder of Forge Studio in Los Angeles. With over 16 years of training under 8-time World Champion Peter “Sugarfoot” Cunningham, her work bridges performance, athleticism, and empowerment. Kendra and I first met through Heidi Rose Robbins’ astrology retreats, where we’ve both shown up as participants and co-facilitators—sharing a devotion and love of embodied, heart-centered practice.
Kendra shares her groundbreaking new offering, Lunar League—a fusion of astrology and martial arts that invites participants to embody their astrology through movement. Pairing each zodiac sign with a martial art (Kendra's Big 3: Scorpio (Ninjutsu), Leo (Muay Thai), and Libra (Wing Chun), Kendra’s work transforms astrology into a somatic, lived experience. Together, we explore how movement becomes a portal for emotional release, resilience, and personal myth-making, especially in times of intensity and change. Then we close our conversation, with me guiding Kendra through a intuitive stream-of-consciousness journey into the realm of Scorpio. We receive a visit from a dolphin, Scorpio Bob Ross, and the Page of Cups from Lindsay Mack's new tarot deck, Soul Tarot.

Hey there, I had to re-upload this episode, because the wrong one was originally uploaded. I am so sorry about that...
Notable Transits of the Week
Uranus in Gemini:
Uranus is now officially in Gemini, marking a significant astrological shift.
Uranus will remain in Gemini for about seven years, until approximately 2033.
The transit is associated with themes of innovation, communication, technological advancement, and unexpected changes, particularly affecting Gemini-related topics (communication, friendships, siblings, early education).
Historical perspective: Uranus in Gemini historically corresponds to periods of revolution and war (e.g., Civil War, Revolutionary War, World War II).
This transit also speaks to the rise and evolution of AI and new technologies.
In the tarot, meditate on The Fool (Uranus) and The Lovers (Gemini) to offer you deeper insights.
Other Notable Transits:
Venus in Gemini: Enhancing the sweetness, relational dynamics, and communication within communication.
Scorpio Full Moon on Friday, May 1st, 2026 at 11°20’ Taurus/Scorpio axis—coincides with Beltane, a traditional festival celebrating fertility and renewal.
Pallas in Aries: Adds to the concentration of Aries energy; there are currently seven placements in Aries (Neptune, Saturn, Mars, Mercury, Pallas, Eris, and Chiron). Pallas brings discernment, pattern recognition and strategy to Aries.
Mercury shifts into Taurus late Saturday, May 2nd, bringing our mind toward the more practical themes of life: finance, the body, material well-being.
Lunar Movements:
Taurus Sun – Virgo Moon to start the week (productive earth-based energy).
Same combo as Lizzo, listen to ‘Coconut Oil’ for some Taurus/Virgo self-care.
Taurus Sun – Libra Moon: Tuesday through Thursday afternoon
Same combo as Grace Jones. Listen to La Vie en Rose for that double Venus vibe.
Taurus Sun – Scorpio Moon: Thursday afternoon, leading up to the Scorpio Full Moon Friday (Beltane, May 1), and into Saturday.
Same combo as Maggie Rogers. Listen to Alaska (SOHN Remix) for the embodied emotional shedding and slow sensual intuitive depth of Taurus/Scorpio.
Sedna in Gemini
Sedna is a Trans-Neptunian Object (TNO), with an extremely long orbit (approx. 11,400 years).
Astrological themes: exiled feminine, survival, autonomy, deep transformation after betrayal or abandonment, issues around bodily autonomy, environmental pollution, and shadowy patriarchal structures.
Sedna entered Gemini:
June 15, 2023 (first entry).
April 28, 2024 (second and current entry).
Sedna had been in Taurus since 1965, reflecting long generational shifts.

Monday Mar 30, 2026
The first part of this episode is a reflection on March 30 through April 5, 2026—a sacred window of time where the cosmos invites us into deep embodiment, relational awareness, and soulful recalibration. As we move through Aries season and toward the Libra Full Moon, this opening segment is meant to help you attune to the energetic landscape of the week ahead, grounding you in the planetary movements so you can consciously walk with them—rather than feel swept up by them. Think of it as a threshold moment: a chance to arrive, to listen, and to align your body, heart, and spirit with the rhythm of the sky. We cover:
Venus in Taurus
Juno in Aquarius
White Moon Selena in Virgo
Mars in Pisces
Then, in honor of the Libra Full Moon, Jeff Hinshaw is joined by magical astrologer Celeste Brooks for a rich and multidimensional conversation that begins with personal myth-making and unfolds into a deep exploration of her chart. Through the lens of Celeste's Taurus Sun, Aries Moon, and Cancer Rising, we trace a story of embodiment, courage, and homecoming, woven with pivotal life transitions, including her shift from a 25-year corporate career into full-time astrology. Together, we explore timing techniques like progressions, the awakening influence of Uranus in Taurus, and the importance of structure in astrological practice, grounding intuitive insight with disciplined study.
From there, the conversation opens into the wider astrological landscape of 2026, reflecting on the collective impact of Neptune’s ingress into Aries, the Saturn–Neptune conjunction, and the North Node’s passage through Pisces. Jeff and Celeste weave together advanced techniques, discuss asteroids like Juno, Ceres, and White Moon Selena, and share intuitive practices like Libra Full Moon channeling and tarot symbolism. The episode moves between the cosmic and the personal, inviting you into themes of truth-telling, spiritual compassion, and collective healing, while emphasizing the importance of grounding rituals and tending to the body as we navigate a rapidly shifting world.

Wednesday Mar 18, 2026
Wednesday Mar 18, 2026
On this Pisces New Moon episode of Cosmic Cousins, we begin by arriving in the liminal space this lunation creates—a threshold between the dream that has carried us for over a decade and the new reality beginning to emerge. This is a moment to feel deeply, to notice the currents beneath the surface, and to honor both the surrender and the subtle stirrings of action that this closing cycle invites.
Then, Jeff Hinshaw is joined by Pisces Moon artist Rochelle Voyles. Returning to the podcast for the first time since 2017, we dive into Rochelle’s solo exhibition Unreliable Narrators that just opened at 81 Leonard Gallery in Tribeca. Through pieces like “Slithering Ruin” and “Defense and Entrapment,” we contemplate nonlinear time, archetypal storytelling, and the duality of distance, and how beauty invites us closer to truths that may otherwise feel unbearable.
Music becomes a co-conspirator in this process, with two songs from Pisces Moon artists Anna Olivia Eve and Lindsey Mills guiding emotional resonance and collective reflection. We reimagine collage as a spiritual technology (one that mirrors astrology, tarot, and memory itself) where meaning is not prescribed but discovered through feeling. In a closing “Mystical Meandering,” Rochelle journeys through a surreal Pisces Dreamscape, and receives a visit from a crab on the seashores, looks up through a telescope to cloudy skies, and receives ancestral guidance from the Six of Cups and an invocation of healing from past trauma.
We seal the episode with reflections on water as conduit, reminding us that to trust the dream, to honor the unseen, and to create from the depths is itself an act of healing, connection, and quiet revolution.

Monday Mar 02, 2026
Monday Mar 02, 2026
On this episode, Jeff Hinshaw guides you through a somatic meditation and energy update connected to the Virgo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse of 2026—a fated turning point unfolding over months, not just a single night. With the North Node in Pisces and the South Node in Virgo, a story that’s been developing for over the past decade begins to crest, inviting release, discernment, and a return to embodied, practical wisdom.
Then, Jeff is joined by Double Aquarius, Virgo Rising Bee—The Zine Witch. Recorded amid a rare eclipse sequence linking Aquarius and Virgo by quincunx rather than polarity, they explore what it means to be cycle-enders. They reflect on collective PTSD, grief surfacing through clients and communities, and Virgo’s sacred task of digestion. Together tracing larger cycles—the 18.5-year eclipse rhythm and the 35-year Saturn–Neptune arc—as thresholds of generational review, asking how we tend the details of our healing while history turns.
We also dive into Internal Family Systems with Virgo's esoteric phrase “I am the mother and the child” as a guide. We re-frame astrology as a tool for re-parenting, especially for neurodivergent folks who learned to self-manage and mask in order to survive. In a playful Virgo improv, Virgo stays home to tend to the mundane, receives a protective ward at a threshold, and invokes ancestral courage through shufflemancy with Amy Winehouse—opening a dialogue on feminism, the meaning of the word “Virago,” and embodied service. We close our time pulling the “Fearless” card from the Wild Kuan Yin oracle, Bee offers a candle ritual for courage and protection, sealing the episode with a direct blessing to those stepping into autonomy, reminding us that devotion to healing, detail, and love is itself a revolutionary act.
